Following the decision to sell or close down our lingerie label and move onto something new, we are no longer planning any new styles for release so what we have left is very much the last of HM.
Our plan is to sell down our stock over the next 6 to 12 months until we receive an acceptable offer, run out of stock or require the warehouse space sooner than anticipated.
Our first plan is to sell down stock that we have over ordered. These are garments we manufactured in larger than usual quantities which has left us with too many on the floor.
So for August you can purchase these garments at below our cost price. The Bianca panty and bra, the Jasmine panty and bra and of course the Chloe thong, underwire bra and mini skirt. Finally, one of the nicest lingerie pieces I personally believe we have ever made, the Emma teddy which we are selling at 50% off our cost price. Yes you read that correctly.
All our garments are on sale now at wholesale prices or less. Those at or under cost price can be seen on our Sale page. We even have our Frida Teddy there for only $10 USD.
And don’t just thing our lingerie is for guys! Emma would be a lovely addition to any girl or gurls collection!
After 15 years of HommeMystere, we have decided to call it a day on our lingerie journey.
With our personal circumstances changing and the business far exceeding anything we could have imagined back in 2008, we have made the decision to move on to the next phase of our lives.
We will have the business officially listed for sale from July 1st.
Depending on the outcome and level of enquiry on the sale, we may switch the website to a wholesale only model in order to liquidate stock from that date.
We cannot guarantee what opportunities there may be for retail purchases of HommeMystere stock after a sale so if there is a particular garment you like, now is the time to purchase
In the meantime we have removed the ‘free shipping’ option from the store as we cannot cover the cost at the reduced prices.
On a personal note, thanks to everyone that has visited, purchased and taken part in our journey. We will endeavor to keep you updated as circumstances change.
We will also give you some insight into our journey via our blog starting in the next few days.
Crossdressing, the act of wearing clothing typically associated with the opposite gender, has long been associated with misconceptions and stereotypes. One common misconception is that crossdressing is exclusively a gay interest. However, it is important to understand that crossdressing transcends sexual orientation, and its appeal is not limited to any particular group. Let’s debunk the myth and explore the diverse motivations behind crossdressing.
Self-Expression and Identity: Crossdressing is a form of self-expression, allowing individuals to explore different aspects of their identity. It provides an opportunity to step beyond societal norms and connect with a fuller sense of self, regardless of sexual orientation.
Fashion and Aesthetics: For many, crossdressing is an appreciation of fashion, aesthetics, and personal style. It allows individuals to experiment with different looks, fabrics, and designs, irrespective of their sexual orientation.
Sensuality and Confidence: Crossdressing can be a deeply personal and intimate experience, helping individuals embrace their bodies and enhance their sensuality. It can instill a sense of confidence and empowerment, irrespective of one’s sexual orientation.
Gender Identity Exploration: Some individuals who crossdress may be exploring their gender identity, separate from their sexual orientation. Crossdressing can serve as a way to explore and express a gender identity that aligns with their true selves.
Breaking Gender Stereotypes: Crossdressing challenges traditional gender norms and stereotypes, offering a platform for personal and societal growth. It allows individuals to question and redefine societal expectations around clothing and gender, fostering a more inclusive and accepting environment.
It is essential to separate sexual orientation from crossdressing, as the two are distinct aspects of human expression. Crossdressing is not exclusive to any sexual orientation and should not be automatically linked to one’s sexual preferences.
As we strive for a more inclusive society, it is vital to embrace diversity and reject preconceived notions. By understanding that crossdressing is a personal choice and form of self-expression, we can celebrate and support individuals in their journey towards self-acceptance and authenticity.
In conclusion, crossdressing is not solely tied to sexual orientation. It is a multifaceted expression of self, encompassing various motivations, from fashion and aesthetics to personal exploration and identity. Let us move beyond labels and misconceptions, embracing the beauty and complexity of human experiences.
In a world that celebrates individuality, it’s essential to recognize that personal style and comfort know no bounds. That’s why it’s not surprising that some men find comfort and confidence in wearing bras.
For some, wearing a bra allows for enhanced support and comfort, especially for individuals with larger chests or those seeking additional lift. Bras can provide a sense of security and alleviate physical discomfort, allowing men to go about their day with ease.
Beyond the practical aspect, some men appreciate the aesthetic appeal of wearing a bra. It allows them to express their personal style, experiment with different looks, and feel more connected to their sense of femininity or gender fluidity.
It’s important to remember that clothing choices are deeply personal and don’t adhere to societal norms. Just as women have embraced traditionally masculine clothing, some men find empowerment and authenticity in wearing a bra.
Ultimately, the decision to wear a bra is a matter of personal choice, comfort, and self-expression. By embracing diversity in fashion and dismantling rigid gender expectations, we create a more inclusive and accepting world where individuals can confidently be themselves.

Our business is changing and our customers are the winners! We’re concentrating on our brief/panty/knicker and thong range with slightly less emphasis on bras and removing all our lingerie stock entirely. So the lingerie styles you see available here will not be replaced when eventually sold out. We may revisit a few styles from time to time but the regular release of teddies and similar styles will end.
To make these changes we’re clearing these styles at close to cost with the Teddy Bundle and the Bra Bundle available now!
As we celebrate our 15th birthday, we’re also placing a few other garments on sale for a limited period or until sold out. Most of our sale items are available here and we also have a short term sale on many of our bras too!
Looking for a lounge set? Try our Cleo or Yumi Brief and Cleo and Yumi Tank Top! These are at less than wholesale price and won’t be available for long!
For some men, the idea of wearing lingerie can be a taboo or uncomfortable topic. However, it’s important to remember that there’s nothing wrong with wanting to wear lingerie, and it’s a perfectly natural desire for some individuals.
Lingerie is often associated with femininity, but it’s important to recognize that clothing does not have a gender. Men can feel just as comfortable and confident in lingerie as women do. This is the customer profile for lingerie labels like ours that create garments for men.
If you’re a man that enjoys wearing lingerie, it’s important to find a safe and supportive space to explore this interest. This might mean finding a partner who is accepting and understanding, or seeking out online communities where you can connect with others whos share similar interests.
It’s also important to remember that wearing lingerie is a personal choice, and you don’t need anyone elses approval or validation to enjoy it. Whether you choose to wear lingerie under your clothing as a secret indulgence, or you feel comfortable wearing it openly, the choice is entirely yours.
In conclusion, there’s nothing wrong with men wearing lingerie. So if you’re someone who enjoys wearing lingerie, embrace your desires and don’t be afraid to explore this aspect of your sexuality.
This was the question we received this week in our inbox and I immediately responded with ‘Good question’ and proceeded to answer as clearly and concisely as possible. But it got me thinking. What would I recommend for a first time visitor unsure of what to buy given what I know now?
Lingerie evokes different emotional responses depending upon mood, timing and circumstances. Guys that are interested in lingerie can’t help but take a furtive glance at the lingerie store window displays and quickly scan the interior. Within moments those guys have identified 3 styles they really want to look at a little closer and immediately discarded any interest in all other styles. All while engaging in conversation with their significant other who hasn’t the slightest idea of what he’s actually thinking about.
It evokes a feeling in guys that is difficult to describe. Not necessarily sexual, more like an addiction, or an itch that needs to be scratched from time to time.
And that’s what we sell here at HommeMystere. It’s the feeling you get from the time you see the garments online to the time your order arrives and you’re trying on your new underwear. It’s the feeling of purchasing something still not socially acceptable. Perhaps your wife/partner doesn’t know and you get that scary yet exciting feeling of doing it anyway and to hell with the consequences if she/he finds out. It’s the feeling of buyers regret when your order is in transit and you have to be the one to check the mail the day it arrives. Then it arrives and you can’t wait to try it on, all the time feeling a range of emotions from excitement, to guilt, fear of discovery, followed by elation. You feel great and just for a moment you don’t care what anyone thinks and nor should you.
So back to the question. What would I recommend. Why do you like lingerie? What’s the initial attraction for you? Is the lingerie for you or your partner? Knowing what I know about our lingerie, here are my thoughts in a particular scenario.
Let’s assume you’re the wife/partner of a guy that likes wearing lingerie. You know about it but struggle to accept it (that’s a hole new blog post for later!) You want to support your partner without encouraging him too much because you’re still unsure yourself.
Start with briefs/panties/thong
I would pick something from the panties or G-Strings styles only for a start. Unless you know he’s into bras and teddies, stick with the basics and learn from that. If we have something in the Sale section in his size then I’d start there. It helps if you have an idea of what he likes (panty/G-String/high cut) but if you don’t I would start with the Annabelle or Nikita panty. Both are my personal day today regular wear undies and they are great. Both are a similar design with full stretch mesh bum, lightweight full fabric front and lace highlights. There’s enough to ensure he knows he’s wearing something special without going too far and they fit all sizes. If they are too colorful for you I would choose the Molly or Ava which are available in black. Very subtle, understated but both are made from lightweight fabric and mesh and are just a genuinely comfortable garment to wear. Again, both are in my personal drawer on high rotation. And finally for a first time order I would choose the Britney. It’s a replica of our original Frill pattern (no longer available) and has a fabric bum instead of the mesh and is just a nice pair of briefs to wear. The little frill edge and the tiny white dotted fabric add that little extra feeling you get just know you’re wearing something a little fun under your outerwear.
Those are my choices for newbies just looking for something low key to try. In my next blog I’ll talk about which direction I would take from here if you wanted to explore a little more.
Bras and Lingerie
Want to explore a little more? If you are thinking of getting a little more daring and looking at bras I would recommend starting with soft cup bras. These are figure fitting garments that lay nicely across the body and not noticeable under outerwear.
I would recommend something like the Heart, Annabelle, Nikita, Retro, Blossom or Alita. Each of these bras are comfortable to wear and give the feeling of wearing something a little different! You can step it up a little further with the Roxy or Coco bra with both having a wider strap and therefore a tighter feeling around the chest.
If you’re somewhat experienced with lingerie and prefer a bra that can easily hold inserts of whatever kind you like, then I recommend trying an underwire bra. For the budget conscious, I would choose the Chloe bra and if that suits then you can move onto almost any underwire bra in our collection with the main difference being the fabric color and the fabric/lace ratio differences in the cup.
If you like the idea of wearing something to match your briefs, then I would choose the Cleo or Yumi Tank Tops. They are stretchy fitted tops that provide a nice feel without having to think about shoulder straps, clasps or wires. Perfect loungewear.
Like the idea of lingerie? Well be quick because we are currently selling out of our lingerie to concentrate on panties, thongs and bras. Lingerie in the form of teddies and mini skirts are amazing, but expensive to produce and slow to sell. It’s unfortunate, but a bonus for you if that’s something you desire as we’ve just started a sale with the intention to move all our lingerie to make room for new stock!
It’s difficult to go wrong with lingerie and it all comes down to your own personal preference. For me, I think the Lara is the most comfortable and absolutely the most flattering of all. And unisex! Like many of our garments, looks great on women that like may like to crossdress in our lingerie.
Carmen is great for sleepwear, Nikita and Frida and just nice to wear, go for Sophia if you like the thong back which many do because this style does sell fast! Nadia for that slippery smooth feeling we all love and it feels super secure with the crossover straps. Want to feel wrapped in pure luxury? Emma. Emma is a slightly heavier garment, crazy beautiful and currently selling below cost. And we are fast running out of the XL so if that’s your size jump in quick.
If you want to do some fun dressing up then pick any of the mini skirts. Ginger, Cherry and Cloe are all fun though Alita and Hannah sets provide the full look with bra and panties.
Juliette Chemise is a favorite, particularly when worn with the bra and panties though you won’t see this one on sale due to its popularity.
So if you like lingerie, buy on sale now as we won’t be revisiting these styles again!
Ok, we always knew producing lingerie for guys was going to be a very niche market and there would be challenges along the way. After nearly fifteen years we have heard just about every insult and rolled with the punches as various individuals and groups passively discriminated against us. Need a manufacturer? ‘Oh we can do lingerie for women but we cannot help you with men’s lingerie’. Photography? Models? Advertising? It’s a tough gig finding someone open minded enough in any field to provide the basic services any other business would receive in a heartbeat. Of course we eventually found people to help us but should it have taken as long as it did? No, it shouldn’t.
So we were pleasantly surprised when we visited the United States some 10 or 11 years ago. A random email from a lovely woman in the US that owned a lingerie store suggested we visit the International Lingerie Show in Las Vegas. So Passport in hand and a 14 hour flight later we were in LAX and waiting for a flight to Vegas. Now I have to set the scene here. Not once in Australia had we received any positive feedback. So you can understand we weren’t quite sure what reaction we would receive in the US if we mentioned what we made and for whom!
We were in for a surprise! From the moment we arrived everyone was positive. It was almost a case of looking around thinking we were on candid camera and the entire trip was a setup because everyone was so, well, nice! People were interested, positive, upbeat, supportive and not a single person had a bad thing to say. Ok, there was a learning curve I had to admit. I thought a few guys were a little angry at first but it turned out they were from New York and apparently that’s a normal tone of voice!
Our biggest issue has always been promoting HommeMystere. For all the ‘progressive’ steps society has made over the years, there’s clearly still a long way to go. Facebook? We lasted less than a week there because apparently if a guy is wearing white cotton underwear that’s acceptable. Change the fabric to satin and put a bow on top and it’s suddenly unacceptable. Whatever.
Now Instagram is on board the censorship train. We are currently on a roll of ‘Policy Violations’ with Instagram. Sometimes you can appeal, sometimes you cannot. And we’re not talking about recent posts being removed, we’re talking about posts from 2019 that are suddenly breaching the violations. I mean seriously? How many Karens can work in one place? And why are they spending so much time perusing our posts and deeming them sexual? Or is this just a new algorithm recently implemented?
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to post content without fear of censorship so we can promote our garments. Perhaps some kind of App on a distributed ledger that is managed by the community where no single entity has the power to censor what is, in our particular situation, photos of guys in underwear. Do you know a social media platform that might suit our needs? Let us know!
How fast has this year gone? It seems like only a moment ago it was September and now Christmas is right upon us! I think it could be summed up by this post seen on FB
The good news is we have just released our final garment for the year, Bianca. She arrives in a bra and panty combination, made from lightweight tricot and lace. Similar to Katie and Nadia but with a slightly different fit.
It’s been another good year for our lingerie and we will be celebrating 10 years in business in May 2019. A few statistics for the past 12 months include-
