How to measure yourself (for lingerie)

One of the comments you often hear in regard to lingerie is that it’s beautiful, but uncomfortable.  Our goal has always been to create lingerie that was not only beautiful, but comfortable enough to wear all day.

Comfort and fit can be pretty subjective for individuals.  Some guys like to wear lingerie and be aware they are wearing it at all times under daily outerwear.  For others, choosing what lingerie to wear each day is part of the fun, as is getting undressed in the evening.  However through the day they want to concentrate on work or whatever needs to be done without the distraction of underwear that isn’t the best fit.

At Hommemystere we’ve always tried to create lingerie that provided a mix of fun and practicality.  The size information we provide is specific to each garment because the fabric and elastics used to make each garment have their own variations.

The most important thing to know is your own measurements.  And that doesn’t mean knowing your measurements ten years ago when you were going through that fitness phase or even 12 months ago.  It’s knowing your measurements today.  That will give you the best chance of getting the right size in the garment of your choice.

Once you know your measurements, think about the kind of fit you prefer.  Some guys like a very firm fit that really holds everything in place tightly.  Other guys prefer a more relaxed fit.  Something that is barely noticeable.

For our bras and briefs, measure as per the pics

For panties, measure around the hips

Always read the product description carefully.  If you’re on the cusp of a size, we make recommendations on whether to go up or down a size.

Generally, if you want a more relaxed fit, we will recommend going up a size.  And if you’re not sure, you can always get in touch with us or make a note on your order.  Plus, if you add your measurements to the order we will send you what we think is the best fit.
