Our Newsletter subscribers will be aware that we finally made an attempt at setting up a Facebook page for the business this week.
And today we deleted the Page.
We did a ‘soft’ release of the Page on Monday morning Aussie time and received quite a good reaction. Plenty of ‘likes’ and Followers received and many of you also sent us emails to let us know that you liked the page but couldn’t ‘Like’ the page because of the possibility of exposure.
We had anticipated that. The plan was to see if we could gain some more awareness and therefore some more customers so we can continue to grow the business.
However on Friday we were unable to access the page due to posting ‘inappropriate’ content that contradicted the terms and conditions of FB. We have no idea what was unacceptable as we had been careful not to post anything sheer or nude with the exception of the back of thongs (which we thought would be ok!). We had also set the page to only be viewed by those over the age of 18 years.
We believe the post that led to the notice was probably our very first video. It was constructed by us from photos of lingerie on a mannequin in the first year we established the brand.
It was also marked by YouTube visitors as having ‘inappropriate’ content at the time and can still only be viewed by those of you over the age of eighteen years.
Strangely enough, our videos with ‘live’ models are acceptable!
So rather than fight yet another censorship battle and have to micromanage a part of our business we have decided to delete the Page entirely and forego FaceBook. We appreciate we are placing information on their site and are therefore subject to FaceBook terms and conditions. We respect the fact they have the right to review and restrict our content however they wish despite not agreeing with their decision.
So we will look at alternative forums to interact with our customers and subscribers in the future.

You might have seen in an earlier post that sometimes things don’t always go perfectly to plan. But that’s understandable. If designing, manufacturing and retailing lingerie was easy then everyone would be doing it.
But it was still disappointing to discover our final production run of Vanessa teddies didn’t go quite according to plan. Though incredibly comfortable, we were getting a few emails to say the snap crotch buttons were not all staying closed all of the time.
So we’ve been considering what to do. We could possibly sew them up, or cut them up and use as polishing rags on my old Hyundai or maybe even give them to a charity for clothing perhaps? In the end we decided to give them away.
Want to know what the fault is with these teddies? The teddy has a snap crotch held together with three little push buttons. The feedback we’re receiving is that on the odd teddy, one or more of the buttons will not stay connected while moving around. That’s it! Everything else is perfect! We haven’t heard of all three failing so you’re likely to receive a decent piece of lingerie.
To get one, all you have to do is place an order valued at over $30 USD. Based on the size of whatever you order, we will add a teddy. This is only until stocks run out and although we have a lot of theses teddies, some sizes will run out sooner than others.
Doesn’t time fly when your playing with lingerie! Since releasing Anneve last month we’ve been extremely busy. Anneve has been very popular and our fastest selling garment since Genevieve.
Our next set is Vanessa and we expect her to arrive before September 12th. Vanessa is a set made up of a sheer teddy (with snap crotch), lace back thong, sheer soft cup bra and a cheeky micro skirt!
We’ve often been asked for a teddy with a snap crotch and the overwhelming feedback is also for something sheer and with a full bum. So we are hoping you love this teddy which will also be available in 4 sizes.

We are pleased to release the first of our 2014/15 collection of lingerie with Rachel now available from our online store. Rachel is a very similar pattern to Genevieve and comes in a Panty, Bra, Garter and a thong Teddy.
Rachel is proving very popular in the first week of her release and we expect our visitors and clients will love the lingerie yet to arrive. We are planning to have a new style ready for release on average every six weeks or so now, right through until March 2016 when we begin planning our next collection.
This year we will have a little more lingerie including a cami with a padded bra, a very very short skirt, a teddy with a snap crotch and a thong I’m sure you guys will love!

I have often heard that most new businesses fail in the first five years. So it’s pleasing to know that not only are we now in our sixth year of operation, HommeMystere continues to grow and the outlook is bright.
It was time for us to upgrade our online store and website to reflect the HommeMystere label. After some teething problems, checking our systems and trialing as many areas as possible, we are confident the store is ready for just about anything!
The continuing growth and success of HommeMystere comes down to having an absolute passion for what we’re doing, a keen interest in all things business related, and most importantly, a very loyal and interested customer base. I’m sure lingerie for guys will continue to be somewhat of a niche product for years to come, but in a global environment, even the smallest niche can encompass a huge number of people.

We’ve been remarkably fortunate to receive quite a bit of media coverage over the past couple of years. ?For many customers and visitors, it’s as if HommeMystere has just arrived on the scene and we’re an overnight sensation! ?Nothing could be further from the truth. ?It’s taken a lot of hard work, money, faith and above all else, passion.
Until you actually begin doing something you really really love and have had an interest in for what seems like forever, you never quite understand what ‘passion’ for your work means. ?You can like your job, or even love your job! ?But does it keep you awake at night? ?Are you constantly thinking of what you can do better? ?How you can improve something? ?Does it consume you? ?That’s what HommeMystere is all about for us.
So when the media comes along, it’s as much an experience for us as I’m sure it is for the agency or reporter. ?Two recent articles from Fusion and Mic.com highlighted a few points for us. ?Firstly, there is still the focus on the sexuality of the guy that likes lingerie. ?Is he gay? ?He must be. ?Or he must be bi at least! ?There is always an interest in that area.
But something else is happening. ?There is more of an acceptance that lingerie exists. ?There’s an acknowledgement that some guys like briefs with a bit of lace or want to wear a bra or sleep in a soft one piece teddy. ?And guess what! ?Like girls, some guys can look pretty damn good in a thong!
It’s also enlightening to receive feedback from customers. ?We knew there were plenty of guys that hid their lingerie habits but we were pleasantly surprised to hear how many shopped with their partners too!
Men’s lingerie is harmless fun enjoyed for a variety of reasons. ?But only those of us with the lingerie addiction know just how passionate guys can be about lingerie….It’s a cycle of indulgence,?enjoyment, guilt, purge and acceptance.
CNBC are getting into men’s lingerie with a discussion on Squawk Box. ?And for the record guys, it does happen in New Jersey and we have a stockist there right now! ?We also think Joe was pretty enthusiastic about our lingerie.
Conan O’Brien mentions lingerie for men in his monologue. ?We can only assume he heard about us. ?If you can sit through the ad at the beginning, it’s at the 4 minute mark. ?We can send you something clean AND sexy if you want Conan.
After four years selling lingerie to a broad cross section of guys around the world, HommeMystere has become an overnight sensation. ?Following our successful showing at the International Lingerie Show in Las Vegas, we’ve been stormed by the media around the world.
HommeMystere went worldwide after the first story appeared on VegasSeven and was republished by?Slate in the United States (shame about the pic used!), and was picked up by the Daily Mail in the UK and?The Sun, (they didn’t pick up the ‘polka dots’ are love hearts!).
The most interesting Media? ?Well, an impromptu?Skype?interview with a South Korean TV Show called the verandah Show (and still yet to air) was different. ?Aside from having had a few evening drinks and being totally unprepared, the conversation in broken drunken Korean/English was entertaining to say the least!
Another fun interview was with KiSS925Toronto in Canada. ?Their interviews with people on the street were funny, and I think the guy Mocha might be turning a little?!? ?Host Roz is already there by the sound of him. ?Maybe we should name a style after him. ?You can listen to the audio and make up your own mind!
